Janet L. McVietty

Janet L. McVietty, 86, of Orion, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Allure of Geneseo.

Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, February 10, 2023, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Orion.  Memorial visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.  Inurnment will be at Western Township Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, where Janet was a member.

Janet was born on November 25, 1936, in Moline, the daughter of Duane and Edna (Kahl) Malmen. She married Terry M. McVietty on September 29, 1956, in Orion. He preceded her in death on July 25, 2011. Janet was a loving mother and homemaker.

Survivors include her children, Greg (Jeanne) McVietty, Lee’s Summit, Randy (Lori) McVietty, Orion, Kevin (Michele) McVietty, Orion, Bruce (Marci) McVietty, Silvis, Mark (Sandy) McVietty, Port Byron; 12 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Jay (Vicki) McVietty, Barry (Marilyn) McVietty; sisters-in-law, Karrie Sue (Bob) Runyon, Betty Malmen, Wanda and Marilyn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terry; brothers, Dale and Ronnie Malmen.
