Janet Elaine Phillips

Janet Elaine Phillips, 84, of Moline, passed away on June 19, 2026, at Charter Senior Living of Moline.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday June 26, 2026, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Janet was born on December 26, 1941, in Rock Island, Illinois, the daughter of Henry and Elsie (Plecas) Bretl. She married Kenneth Eugene Phillips on July 23, 1960. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2025. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to Rock Island County, retiring in 2003. Throughout her career, she provided vital support in several departments, including Voter Registration, Accounting, and in the Circuit Clerk’s Office. Janet was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She enjoyed golfing and shopping and was a devoted animal lover.

Survivors include her son, Steven Phillips; brother, Robert (Jokie) Bretl; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, sister, Joan Baird, and brother, Donald Shepard.
