Jay (Jarie) D Akers

Jay (Jarie) D. Akers, 19, of Moline, passed away at home Saturday, December 19, 2020, peacefully in his grandmother’s arms.

Cremation rites have been accorded.  A Memorial Service will be held April 24, 2021 at Loud Thunder Scout Reserve 9906 175th St. W., Illinois City, IL 61259 at 2:00p.m.  Memorials may be made to Boy Scouts Camp Fund or Loud Thunder Scout Camp.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.

Jay was born on April 22, 2001, in Davenport, IA, the son of Julie Jones.  Jay swam for the Moline High School swim team, as well as the Moline Blue Marlins Swim Club.  Jay was an Eagle Scout with Troop 119.

Survivors include his grandparents, Linda and John Jones; mother, Julie Jones; uncles and aunts, Jamie & Shauntel Jones, De & Randy Norin, Kris & Dan Carico; and numerous cousins.
