Jean Eileen Lanpher, 87, of Rock Island, IL, formerly of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, February 02, 2016, at Silver Cross Health and Rehabilitation, Rock Island, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, February 7, 2016, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to Trinity Health Foundation c/o Trinity College Scholarship, 2121 1st Street A, Moline, IL, 61265, or to Holy Cross Lutheran Church.

Jean was born on September 30, 1928, in Muscatine, IA, the daughter of William "Bert" H. and Marie Seaton Pulliam. She married Donald James Lanpher on December 10, 1949, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Island. She graduated from the former Seaton High School in Seaton, IL, class of 1946. In 1949, she graduated from the former Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing in Moline, IL, as a registered nurse. Jean went on to work for the Moline Public Hospital and later for the Rock Island Convalescent Center, retiring in 1986.

Jean was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and their Women of Christian Service group. She was also a member of Trinity Alumni Association as well as Trinity Medical Center Auxiliary. Jean belonged to the William Dennison Chapter in Mercer County, IL, of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

Survivors include her loving husband, Donald; daughter, Katherine Lanpher; grandsons, Jason Lanpher and John Lanpher, Jr.; nephews, Larry Pulliam and Gregory Pulliam; great nieces, Laura, Andrea, and Natalie Pulliam; many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, John; brother, Vernon Pulliam.
