Jeffrey “Jeff” Scheckel, 57, of Rock Island, passed away on October 12, 2026, at his home.
Cremation rites will be accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.
Jeff was born on April 17, 1969, in Davenport, Iowa, the son of Wilfrid C. and Janet E. (Mahoney) Scheckel. He had previously worked at Custom Pack and The Hungry Hobo.
Jeff was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders.
Survivors include his son, Jordan Groom; siblings, Cheryl (Bob) Helm, Cindy Scheckel, Greg (Paula) Scheckel.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
