Jeffrey Martin

Jeffrey Martin, 73, of Rock Island, passed away July 3, 2025, at his home.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family.

Jeff was born on June 2, 1952, in Rock Island, the son of Harry and Sally (Knight) Martin. He married Marjorie Moreau on June 19, 1976, in Cary, IL. Jeff had been employed at the Rock Island Arsenal in the Army Contracting Command for over 30 years, retiring in 2016.

He enjoyed playing the trumpet in the Bettendorf Park Band, listening to music, and reading. For years he was active and enjoyed running in the Cornbelt Running Club, as well as tending to his vegetable garden. Later he enjoyed crossword puzzles and Sodoku. Jeff was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers. He loved telling jokes and stories to everyone.

Survivors include his wife, Marj; sons, Jason Martin and Nathan (Marie Meneses) Martin; grandchild, Duncan; and brother, Bill (Rita) Martin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Carol Martin.
