Jerome "Jay" Woida, 63, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, May 22, 2014, at Select Specialty Hospital, Davenport, IA.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to QC Botanical Center Garden Railroad Fund or to the QC Animal Welfare Center.
Jay was born on September 5, 1950, in Chicago, IL, the son of Leonard J. and Evelyn G. (Wilkins) Woida. He married Jacqueline S. Cottrell on April 10, 1970, in Kokomo, IN. Jay proudly served the United States Air Force from 1970 - 1974, having served in Thailand.
Jay received his Master's Degree and worked as an engineer for John Deere Harvester Works, retiring in 2013. He enjoyed trains and model railroading.
