Jerry Wayne Dufur

Jerry Wayne Dufur, 79, of Rapids City, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Countryside Christian Church, Port Byron. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Friday at the church. Interment will be at Rapids City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to UnityPoint Hospice – Quad Cities.

Jerry was born on April 20, 1947, in Doniphan, MO, the son of James and Nova (Rowlins) Dufur. He married Nancy Liby in Rock Island, IL on April 20, 1969. Jerry worked in maintenance for Caterpillar Inc and later in manufacturing for Oscar Meyers until his retirement in 2008.

He served as a deacon and assistant treasurer at Countryside Christian Church in Port Byron, where he was a member for 50 years and also served on the board of Rock River Christian Camp. Jerry was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He enjoyed spending his winters on Hilton Head Island, SC, going on cruises, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; son, Todd (Misty) Dufur; grandchildren, Kelsey Griffiths, Zach Campbell, Brock Dufur, and Olivia Dufur; son-in-law, Tim Campbell; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin Campbell, parents, James and Nova Dufur, 4 brothers, and 7 sisters.
