Jerry Geiger

Jerry Joseph Geiger, 87, of East Moline, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2022, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, September 16, 2022, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m., Thursday, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, where military honors will be conducted. Memorials may be made to River City Church, where Jerry was a member.

Jerry was born on January 23, 1935, in Rock Island, the son of Earl and Frances (Strother) Geiger. He married Betty M. Wiley on February 4, 1955, in Rock Island. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served in the Air Force. Jerry was previously employed at John Deere where he worked as an electrician. He enjoyed family time, woodworking, listening to country music and playing the ukulele.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; son, Bob (Ping) Geiger; daughter, Sheila (Jim) Heubach; 7 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Cathy (Gary) Wagner.

He was preceded in death by son, Don; sister, Patty; and a grandson.
