Jo Ann Wilt

Jo Ann Wilt, 83, of Silvis, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2026, at her home.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday March 8, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Macomb. Memorials may be made to Christ Church Quad Cities.

JoAnn was born on August 26, 1942, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Eugene and Olive (Mercer) Wilt.

She worked as a teacher first in Louisville, Kentucky, then for 33 years at Wilson Junior High School in the Moline District until her retirement. JoAnn enjoyed playing Bringe in a Bridge Club for many years. She also took part in Retired Illinois Teachers events and sang in the First Christian Church (Moline) choir for many years. JoAnn loved her cats and being around horses as she rode horses and owned a horse in previous years.

Survivors include her cousins, John (Nancy) Wilt, Linda (Johanna Johnson) Free; first cousins once removed, Michael (Marcia) Free, Timothey (Julia) Free, Heidi (Sam Norcross) Wilt-Norcross, Lottie Carter.

She was preceded in death by her first cousin once remove, Rebecca Free Shonle and cousin-in-law, Roger Free.
