Jo Nell Rhodenbaugh, 65, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at Amber Ridge Assisted Living, Moline, IL.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2016, at First Lutheran Church in Sherrard, 3126 175th Avenue, Sherrard, IL. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Western Township Cemetery in Orion. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church in Sherrard, IL, where she was a member.
Jo Nell was born on January 7, 1951, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Eugene and Gwendolyn Weeks Rhodenbaugh. Teaching was a passion for Jo Nell. For 28 years, she worked as a speech therapist for Marion County School Systems, retiring in 2009. She also taught ESOL in Ocala, FL, at the community college. Jo Nell conducted 38 plays for children's theater and appeared at the Ocala Civic Theater. She enjoyed ceramics and owned her own studio.
Survivors include her sisters, Judy Johnson, Moline, IL, Nina Davis, Scottsdale, AZ, and Carita (Charles) Eckert, Joy, IL; 2 nieces; 5 nephews; 17 great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers-in-law, Dean Johnson and Jim Davis.
