JoAnne Bowman

JoAnne Bowman, 91, of Orion, IL, passed away on July 22, 2026, at Palm Cottage in Rockledge, FL.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00AM on October 15, 2026, at Hope United Church of Christ, Moline. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at the Rock Island National Cemetery. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline are assisting the family. Memorials may be made to Hope United Church of Christ.

JoAnne was born on December 2, 1934, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Ival and Catherine (Sheley) Seitz. She married Harmon C. Bowman in Andover, IL on October 14, 1956; he preceded her in death on November 3, 2020.

She was a member of Hope United Church of Christ in Moline and formerly a member of Swedona Lutheran Church. JoAnne played in family card clubs, and she was an avid sports fan of the Bears and Cardinals.

Survivors include her children, Deborah A (Bruce) Simmons of Morton, IL, Dorinda Newton of Bettendorf, IA, and Jeff (Lynn Waldron) Bowman of Rockledge, FL; 8 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Sue Grechan of Moline, IL; brother, Tom (Suzanne) Seitz of Moline, IL; sisters-in-law, Carol (Lisle) Hubbard of Rock Island, IL and Theresa Seitz of Moline, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Joel C. Bowman; brother, Robert Seitz; sister-in-law, Sally Bowman.
