JoAnne Hallas, age 77, of Cypress, TX, formerly of Moline, died Sunday, June 15, 2008 at Memorial City Hospital, Houston, TX.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 19th 2008, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. In lieu of sending flowers, a donation to the Humane Society in Joanne's name would be appreciated.
JoAnne was born February 22, 1931 in Moline, the daughter of Warren and Goldie (Wicklund) Parker. She married Harry Hallas, Jr. on May 1, 1971. He preceded her in death on April 4, 1992.
A fun loving free spirit, Joanne was the life of the party, singing into her fake microphone and dancing with anyone who could keep up with her. She brought joy and happiness into the lives of everyone she met. She will be remembered for her great sense of humor, love of music and her appreciation of the simple joy of life. Joanne will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved her.
