John "Tony" Anthony Appleman, 52, of Baton Rouge, LA, formerly of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, January 1, 2013, in Baton Rouge, LA.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, January 7, 2013, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3205 60th Street, Moline, IL. Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, January 6, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. A private family rosary will be held at an earlier time. Cremation Rites will follow and burial of ashes will be at a later date. Memorials may be made to Christ the King Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline American Legion Post #246, or to Alleman High School.

Tony was born on August 4, 1960, in Amboy, IL, the son of John "Jack" Alzaa and Julie Ann (Morrissey) Appleman. His senior year in college he was President of The Student Body at S.I.U. He worked as a self-employed contractor and as Security at the LSU games. Tony was a huge Green Bay Packer's and St. Louis Cardinal's Fan and attended many Super Bowl Games. He enjoyed playing golf as well as caddying for Jeff Sluman. Tony was a loyal friend & uncle who traveled the whole United States and lived life to the fullest.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Jim, and sister-in-law, Michele.
