John L. DeVolder, 61, of Moline, IL, died Monday, June 29, 2015, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Moline, Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2015, at Faith Walk World Outreach Center, 1450 Avenue of the Cities, Silvis, IL. Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the family.
John was born on March 21, 1954, in Moline, IL, the son of Robert and Dorothy DeVolder. He married Kelly Murphy on February 13, 1998, in Rock Island, IL. John worked as an independent contractor for many years, and retired from the maintenance department at Friendship Manor in 2013.
John enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time on the river. He was a great handyman and could fix anything. He especially loved listening to music, the Blues being his favorite. He also enjoyed watching baseball, especially, the St. Louis Cardinals. More than anything, John loved the time he spent with his family and grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife, Kelly; children, Ben (Molly) Lund, Moline, IL, Sara (John) Zabloudil, Rock Island, IL, Kara Earl, Moline, IL, and Victoria Umstadt, Moline, IL; 11 grandchildren, Keegan, Damian, Kasey, Kaden, Tristum, Isabella, Kayleigh, Amelia, Jack, Anika, and Avreigh; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Mike; sisters, Pam and Julie.
