John “Jack” Leonard Moore, 102, of Palm Harbor, Florida, passed away October 17, 2025, in Florida.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday October 31, 2025, at the Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted. Anyone wishing to attend should meet at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline at 9:15 a.m. Friday morning for procession to the cemetery.
Jack was born on December 26, 1922, in Little York, Illinois, the son of Clyde and Edna (Asdell) Moore. He married Josephine M. Van Goethem on January 24, 1953, in Rock Island. She preceded him in death on November 4, 2006.
He was a U.S. veteran, having served in the Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Jack had worked as a weapon specialist at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1973 after 20 years. He was a member of the Moline American Legion Post 246 and Doric Lodge 319.
Survivors include his brother, Dick Moore of Galesburg; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents; brothers, Robert, Bus, Pete and a younger brother who passed as a toddler.
