John W Kimbel

John W. Kimbel, 71, of Rock Island, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021, at The Ivy at Davenport.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held Friday, October 1, 2021, from 6-10 p.m. at Wunder-Y 2316 16th St, Moline, IL.  Private inurnment will be at Rock Island National Cemetery, where military honors will be conducted.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family to help offset costs.

John was born on May 9, 1950, in Hiedleberg, Germany, the son of Donald and Toni (Belinski) Kimbel.  He graduated from Alleman High School in 1968.  He is a U.S. Veteran, serving with the Army.  He married Marsha Bratton in Colorado Springs, CO, in 1991.  John was a fan of the Denver Broncos and he enjoyed playing cards and pool.

Survivors include his wife, Marsha; sons, Jason (Jessica) Kimbel, Las Vegas, NV, Jacob (Leah) Kimbel, Atlanta, GA; stepsons, Kevin Hildebrandt, East Moline, Steven Hildebrandt, Springfield, IL; grandchildren, Jared, Colbey, Lacey, Evan, Brady, and Owen; siblings, Teresa Kimbel, Bettendorf, Patty Shay, Rock Island, and Michael Kimbel, Chicago, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
