John C. "Jack" Power, 77, of Davenport, Iowa died Monday, August 3, 2015 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.
Memorial visitation will be on Thursday, August 6, 2015 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warrior Project.
Jack was born November 20, 1937 in Rutherford, New Jersey the son of Jake and Ruth Hawley Power. Jack married Veola Bainter in 1961 in Cedar Rapids, they later divorced. He later married Carol Gugelmeier McDermott in St. Augustine, Florida in 1991, they later divorced.
Jack was a longtime National Guardsman having served in both Florida and Iowa. He was a machinist by trade having worked with a number of different companies. He was an avid scuba diver and in his early years was very active in motor sports.
