John M. Tadie

John Michael Tadie (Johnny) was born December 11, 1987, at Illini Hospital in Silvis, IL, the only child of Susan Jane Gushanas (Tadie). He died December 31, 2025, of complications from Liver Disease. 

He attended Moline Il schools and graduated from Moline High School in 2006. He was a proud member of the school’s swim team. As a student at Scott Community College, he realized his talents in the culinary field which led him to the kitchens of several area restaurants. Johnny moved to Anacortes, WA in 2011 to be near his mother who moved there in 2008. He returned to Moline in 2023. Johnny was caring and kind to all ages and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his families.

He is survived by his step-grandfather, Lane Trefftzs; stepfather, Erik Gushanas and children; great aunts: Nancy Davis (Tadie), Mary Jane Linke (Tadie), Helen Basehore (Tadie), Uncle William Tadie; and 21 first cousins.

John was preceded in death by his mother Susan (8/16/1967 – 3/9/2019), grandmother Carolyn Sue Tadie Trefftzs (Johnsen) (9/14/1942 – 7/22/2006), grandfather John Michael Tadie (7/21/1941 – 10-14-1976), great grandparents Michael C. and Catherine L Tadie (Minehan) and Ralph and Dorthea (Palmer) Johnsen.

A private family service will be held at a later date at Moline Memorial Park.
