Jone "Jonie" E. Sieghartner, age 54, of Coal Valley, died Saturday, March 14, 2009 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Peoria.
A memorial service will be held at 5:00 pm. on Monday, March 16, 2009 at the First Southern Baptist Church, Colona. Per her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Private graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Church Youth Program or the Church Sunday School. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. Moline is assisting the family.
Jonie was born April 7, 1954 in Kewanee the daughter of George & Betty Horton. She married Robert Sieghartner on October 1, 2005 in Geneseo.
Jonie was employed for 10 years with J.C. Penny as a window covering specialist. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church, Colona where she taught 1, 2 and 3rd Grade Sunday School. Jonie was deeply involved with the General Federation of Woman's Clubs; she was President of the Abingdon Jr. Woman's Club and Colona J.W.C. She was a charter member of Colona J.W.C., and the 14/15 District Director of J.W.C. as well as the 15th District President, Central Region Vice President, State Jr. International Chairman and she had received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Jonie served the community where she lived as well as throughout the state. She enjoyed fishing, her flower garden, cooking and the farm. She also enjoyed the tree farm. Above all she loved her husband, grandkids and family.
