Jordan L Daniel, age 81, U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War, of Silvis, passed away on December 12th, 2013 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2013, at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens where military honors will be conducted by Moline American Legion Post 246. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Relay for Life please see www.relayforlife.org.
Jordan was born on October 23rd, 1932 in Washington Township, Appanoose County, IA, the son of Elmer and Mary Madalyn Daniel and Stepson to Irene (Wells) Daniel. He married Marilyn Sampson on March 28th, 1953 in Sterling, IL. Jordan was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
Jordan understood the importance of work, family and friends. He worked at Alcoa for 37 years as a Maintenance Planner retiring in 1992. He continued his relationships with fellow colleagues, by becoming an avid golfer with the Alcoa Golf Group. There were many things in life he enjoyed such as golf, woodworking, traveling, shooting pool, telling stories, jokes, and spending time with his sons and wonderful grandchildren. He was strong, steadfast and a man who always had a positive outlook on life. He will truly be missed by his family, friends and community.
Beloved husband of the late Marilyn Daniel. Dear friend and companion Shirley Coveantz. Loving father to Brian (Susie) Daniel, Jay (Layai) Daniel. Proud Grandfather to Katie Daniel (Jared), Marie (Travis) Nowak, Julie, Shae (Keith) Stewart, Austin, Kiley, Marcus and Jacob. Great Grandfather to Hollyn Stewart and soon to be baby Nowak. Proud Uncle to Jody (Cindy) Sampson, Kevin (Susan) Sampson and children.
