Joseph Pilichowski, age 84, of Moline, died Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 21, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. Entombment is at St. Mary's Mausoleum, East Moline where military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #246. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to his church, St. Mary's, Moline.
Joe was born July 13, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI the son of Stanley and Mary Pilichowski. He married Beverly Creen on July 1, 1950 at St. Mary's Church in Moline.
Joe began working at John Deere Harvester and later was employed as a Moline Firefighter for 24 ½ years, retiring in May 1980. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 246 and the Moose Club. He was a Marine Corp. veteran of World War II and the Korean war. He enjoyed metal detecting, fishing, playing euchre with his brothers-in-law, was an avid Cubs fan, but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Lou, Clara, Helen and Wanda and brothers Charlie and Leo.
