Joseph "Ted" T. Wilcox

Joseph “Ted” T. Wilcox, 89, of Rock Island, IL, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday October 20, 2026, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Moline Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Ted was born on February 7, 1937, in Freeport, IL, the son of Joseph and Murial (Cameron) Wilcox. He married Gladys (Walters) Wilcox at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Freeport, IL on June 29, 1957. Ted retired as a truck driver, then delivered RV’s all over the US and Canada with his wife. He then taught truck driving at Scott Community College. Ted is a US Army Veteran and served in the 82nd Airborne Division, known as the “All American” Division.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys; children, Pamela (Rich) ViPond, Mark (Kathy) Wilcox, Denise Evins, Roxanne (Alan Cohn) Wilcox; grandchildren, Denise Bruggeman, Joe Bruggeman, Mark Wilcox II, Shallon Richard, Jasmine Tabatabai, Jason Tabatabai; great-grandchildren, Natalya, Payton, Nash, and Olwyn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Lorraine Kaplan, Josephine Miller, and Dona Cutting.
