Josephine Hillbert, 97, of Moline died on Sunday, November 08, 2015, at Bickford Cottage, Moline.

The family will hold private funeral services. Burial will be at Moline Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 2208 East 52nd Street Suite B, Davenport, IA, 52807. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Josephine was born on March 24, 1918, in New Boston, IL, the daughter of Antonio and Mary Delgado Compas. She married Richard Hillbert, Jr., on October 12, 1939, and he preceded her in death on December 19, 2004.

Josephine graduated from St. Anthony School of Nursing, Rock Island, IL, in 1938. She retired from nursing in 1963. She was an avid golfer, bridge player with master points, knitter, crocheter and painter, but most of all she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She leaves behind a daughter, Pat (James R.) Christiansen; son, John W. Hillbert; grandchildren, Jill (David) Latting, Huntington Beach, CA, Sue (Charlie) Hintz, Sarasota, FL, Scott (Kami) Christiansen, Moline, IL, and Timm Hillbert, Gilbert, AZ; 6 great grandchildren, Casey and Kayla Latting, Stefani and J.C. Hintz, Keaton and Kara Christiansen; sister, Juanita Wheeler, Milan, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Michael R. Hillbert; brothers, Frank and John; sisters, Mary and Bessie.
