Joyce D. Cant, 71, of East Moline, died on December 26, 2014 at Genesis Medical Center Illini Campus, Silvis.
A funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services. Memorials may be made to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
Joyce was born on October 23, 1943 in Moline, the daughter of Glenn and Nina Leach Burklund. She married Gary Cant in 1963 and they divorced in 1984.
Joyce was most recently a homemaker but had worked on the Rock Island Arsenal for several years. She had attended Black Hawk College for journalism and had written for the college paper, "The Chieftain." Joyce also enjoyed writing and had published some of her poetry. Above all was her love of family.
She is survived by her children
