Joyce A. Ford, 72, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2015, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1330 13th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church Prayer Team or Hunger Team.
Joyce was born on August 29, 1942, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Harry J. and Hazel M. Heaps Thorngren. She graduated as the valedictorian from Moline High School in 1960, where she was also a cheerleader, a member of the homecoming court, and the editor for the Line-O-Type. She attended Augustana College.
Joyce met her sweetheart, Quinton Ford, in junior high school and they married on December 17, 1960, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. Joyce proudly served as a devoted Navy wife and later as a homemaker, caring for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She coordinated employee benefits at Allendale for the Moline School District 40 and also worked as a receptionist for Drs. Davies, Oppenheimer, and staff.
Joyce was a life long member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. She was heavily involved in church activities and groups including being a member of the Prayer Team, Hunger Team, Member Care Team, the Chronic Pain Support Group, and Befriender. Joyce taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School. She was also a reader, Communion assistant, and a member of Anna Unit. Joyce was a past president of Willard PTA and a member of Via De Cristo.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
