Joyce Wells, 82, of Moline, IL, died Wednesday, December 10, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Moline, Moline, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014, at Trinity Anglican Church, 1818 6th Avenue, Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. In lieu of flowers, Joyce asked for memorials to be given to the church or to Logan Elementary School in Moline for books for their library.
Joyce was born on January 30, 1932, in Moline, IL, the daughter of John and Clara Milam DeCausmaker.
She married Richard "Dick" Wells on May 9, 1953, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Rock Island. She started working as a bookkeeper for the former Moline National Bank which is now First Midwest Bank. She worked there for over 35 years, retiring in 1995 as the Vice President.
Joyce along with Father Larsen were former members of the Elder Abuse Council where they were appointed representatives. She was a volunteer at Logan school for many years. She enjoyed Longaberger baskets and loved her Longaberger friends. She very much enjoyed spending time with her friends and would meet with her classmates every month. Joyce loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
