Judith Lee (Payne) Hogren, 81, of Orion, Ill., died on March 13, 2026, at MercyOne Genesis Silvis Medical Center, Silvis, IL.
In lieu of a funeral, there will be a time to visit with her family on Saturday, March 21 from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at United Methodist Church, 407 12th Ave, Orion, IL. The burial will be at Orion Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Orion is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the family, for a fund to be established.
She was born on June 8, 1944, to Vivian (Stevenson) and Francis “Pete” Payne at Moline Public Hospital, Moline, IL. Judy grew up alongside her sister, Jackie Peterson, and her brothers, Ronald “Joe” Payne and Keith “Butch” Payne. She married Marvin Hogren in Orion, on June 10, 1961, and they brought three sons into the world: Troy, Todd and Tim.
Judy graduated from Orion High School and worked for John Ames Attorney in Orion, IL as a legal secretary. Over her life, she and Marvin lived in Orion, IL, Silsbee, TX, and Starke, FL. She also worked for Shaw Law in Florida and Larson Pump in Orion.
She liked bowling, playing cards, antiquing, crocheting, gardening and spending time outdoors, especially at the beach. She was a fan of Elvis Presley and enjoyed the Iowa State Fair.
Judy is survived by her husband, Marvin; her sister, Jackie (Tom) of Orion, IL; her sons, Troy (Debbie) Hogren of Danville, IL and Tim (Melissa) Hogren of Port Byron, IL; her granddaughters, Julia (Jared) Dellitt of Des Moines, IA, Olivia (Eddie) Zurcher of Coal Valley, IL, Daria (Cory) Steinhart of Orion, IL, Sarah (Chad) Schechinger of Ashland, NE and Emma Hogren of Port Byron, IL; six great-grandchildren; and an extended family who loved her. She was preceded in death by her son, Todd Hogren; her parents; her brothers, Joe and Butch; her sister-in-law, Beverly Payne, and many other friends and family members.
