June C. Ausdal, of Rock Island, passed away peacefully on her birthday, June 1, 2015, at the home of her son in Milan, IL. A family graveside service will be held at National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. In lieu of flowers, please contribute to a charity or church of choice, or Animal Aid, Moline or QC Animal Welfare, Milan.
June was born June 1, 1931 to James and Amanda (Hall) Clark. She graduated from Rock Island High School and was a Cum Laude graduate of Augustana College in Rock Island, IL majoring in French and Spanish.
June married Robert B. Ausdal on June 3, 1952 at South Park Presbyterian Church in Rock Island. She taught elementary school for 7 years in Rock Island, including Longfellow and Eugene Field, before leaving teaching to start her family. In 1979 she and Robert founded Robert B Ausdal & Co Inc (now Ausdal Financial Partners Inc), an SEC registered investment advisory and FINRA member broker-dealer firm, where she served as its Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer until her retirement in 2000.
June was a talented linguist, artist, seamstress, singer, and pianist who loved sharing her gifts through teaching. She was insightful, gracious, patient and kind to all. She loved her family and served as a Girl Scout leader and volunteer at her children's schools when they were growing up. Her love and care for animals was offered to everything from turtles, lizards and fish to dogs, a caiman, parakeets, and a home-raised raccoon. Robert and June enjoyed traveling and visited many places including Africa, France, England, Spain and Russia, as well as many of the states in the U.S. June endured her later-life afflictions with profound grace and a strength of spirit that was a source of inspiration to everyone who knew her.
God blessed June with a very special friend and caregiver, Patricia Kennedy of East Moline and Erie, IL. With Patricia's assistance, June enjoyed a life of comfort, security, love and fun that could not have been happier.
June's survivors include her children, Claudia (Mike) Connelly, Springfield, Ill., Laura (Bob) Carey, Naperville, Ill., Robert B. (Monica) Ausdal Jr., Milan, Ill.; grandchildren, Thomas, Molly, Louis, and Daniel Connelly, Lena and Max Carey, and Isabelle, Graham and Ian Ausdal; and beloved friend, Patricia Kennedy, of East Moline and Erie, IL. June was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and sisters, Marian Weinecke and Betty Clark.
