June A. Stropes, 67, of Orion, IL, died Sunday, September 7, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, September 12, 2014, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 11, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the Orion United Methodist Church, where she was a member.
June was born on May 11, 1947, in Moline, IL, the daughter of Don and Margaret Lambert Stickle, Sr.
She married Lee Stropes on April 12, 1969, in Orion.
June graduated from Lutheran Nursing Academy with a degree in nursing and later received a Master's degree from Western Illinois University. She worked as a nurse for the Orion School District. June loved motorcycles, camping, traveling, and fishing.
