Karl W. Pearson, 88, of East Moline, IL, died Tuesday, October 25, 2016, at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline, IL.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at First Baptist Church of Moline, 1901 29 Street, Moline. Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and inurnment will be at Rock Island Memorial Park. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Karl was born on July 2, 1928, in Rock Island, IL, the son of Harold and Irene Carlson Pearson. He married Evelyn Dickey on August 29, 1945 in Davenport, IA, and she preceded him in death on November 3, 2003. He worked as a receiving clerk for I.H. Farmall for 30 years, retiring at the age of 46. Later, he worked in maintenance for Friendship Manor and as a Security Officer for Per Mar at the Quad City Downs.
Karl enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. He also enjoyed tending to his yard, gardening, woodworking, and tinkering. More than anything, Karl loved spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, Tom (Mary) Pearson, Milan, IL; daughter, Kathleen (Jeffrey Redman) Pearson, East Moline, IL; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother, Clair (Orla) Pearson, Florida.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; 2 children, Danny Wayne and Sandra Pearson; brother, Bernard Pearson; sister, Beverly Freeland.
