Katherine "Kay" C. Johnson, 97, of Andover, IL, died Thursday, September 04, 2014, at Hillcrest Nursing Home, Geneseo, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., 1301 4th Street, Orion, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, September 8, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenview Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association.

Kay was born on August 24, 1917, in Andover Township, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Ethel Pehrson Schmoll. She married John R. Johnson on December 16, 1940, in Clinton, IA, and he preceded her in death on April 15, 1991. She and her husband, John, owned and operated the former Orion Tap for 20 years.

She enjoyed cooking and playing cards. More than anything, Kay loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Tina Lee; sister, Marjorie Hahn; son-in-law, Jerry Yates.
