Kelvin Johnson

Kelvin Johnson, 65, of Rock Island, passed away on October 20, 2026, at his home.

Cremation rites will be accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.

Kelvin was born on March 13, 1961, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Scott B. and Jeanette (Harris) Johnson. He married Jessica Johnson and she preceded him in death in May of 2025. He worked in maintenance with the Missouri Department of Transportation.

Kelvin loved music, singing and playing his harmonica. He was a kind soul who never met a stranger. He enjoyed meals together with his family and friends, especially pancakes and fried potatoes.

Survivors include his siblings, Mary Ruth Owens, Corrine Donagon, Beatrice Johnson, Cecil Johnson, Leon Johnson, James Johnson; daughter, Markita Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters, and his son, Marcus.
