Kenneth L. Moortel

Kenneth L. Moortel, 73, of Moline, IL, passed away, December 21, 2025, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.

Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to QC Paws.

Kenny was born on January 2, 1952, in Nuremberg, Germany, the son of Jack G. Moortel and Mary Lou Fleming Gottsch. He married Anna Stice in Rock Island on March 30, 1985, and later divorced. Kenny worked for 30 years at Case IH in East Moline starting in March of 1972. He retired in August of 2002.

Kenny was a proud dad who loved being involved in his daughter’s life, including coaching softball in earlier years. He was kind, generous with his time, and always willing to help a friend or neighbor. He found joy in working on small projects and was well known for his love of finding a good deal. Kenny valued friendships deeply and maintained several lifelong connections from his younger years. Kenny also had a special love for dogs and took great joy in caring for the pups of family and friends.

Survivors include his daughter, Amber Rose (Leland Chasey) Moortel; stepson, Bradley Austin; brother, Jack (Debbie) Moortel; half-siblings, Joanna Haley, Janice Wilson, and Craig Gottsch.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
