Kyle Matthew Pavelonis, 46 of Silvis, died peacefully at home with his family on October 22, 2009 after a year long battle with brain cancer.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Ave., Moline. Visitation will be Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.
Kyle was born October 31, 1962 in Moline, the son of Del and Sandy Pavelonis Clevenger and Eugene Pavelonis. He married Kim Tennant in November of 1986.
Kyle worked for McClure Engineering as a survey technician and field leader.
Kyle graduated from United Township in 1981. He then attended Murray State on a Division 1 pole vaulting scholarship and graduated in 1986. While at Murray State he was a Division 1 All American Pole Vaulter.
He was an avid golfer, competing at a very high level, and NASCAR fan. He was also a die hard Raiders fan. He enjoyed being outdoors especially hunting, fishing, and racing his ATVs where he won a Midwest Championship. He enjoyed watching his boys compete in pole vault, football and basketball for UT, and Ian while at University of Wisconsin, Platteville. He loved his mom's cooking and his two dogs Max and Duke.
