Larry Downing

Larry "Joe" J. Downing, 59, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at his son's home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 26, 2014, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 25, 2014, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery at Rock Island Arsenal where military honors will be conducted by Moline American Legion Post 246. Memorials may be made to the family.

Larry was born on September 30, 1954, in Moline, IL, the son of John and Marjorie Allison Downing. He worked in the public works department for the City of Rock Island. He was a United States Army veteran having served from 1972-1975.

Larry was an avid Bears and Cubs fan. He enjoyed shooting darts and loved spending time with his family and friends.
