Larry V. Hughes

Larry V. Hughes, 72, of Moline, passed away, July 16, 2024, in Germany, while traveling.

Private family services will be held. Cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment will be at Illinois City Cemetery, Illinois City. Memorials may be made to Faith Evangelical Free Church, Moline. 

Larry was born on February 28, 1952, in Moline, the son of Gwyn and Iva Fay (St. John) Hughes. He married Cheryl Morehead on February 12, 1977, in Moline, IL. Larry was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy. Larry retired in 2011, after 37 years in the I.T. Department at John Deere. He was an avid Star Trek fan as well as NASCAR, bowling, and traveling. He loved hanging out with his family and friends and being outdoors when his health would allow it.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; daughters, Valerie (Brock) McConchie, Rock Island and Danielle (Patrick) Dickens, Moline; grandchildren, Leia McConchie, Alice McConchie, Isaac McConchie, Nora McConchie, Ryder Dickens, and Harper Dickens; sister, Cheryl Baker, Moline.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
