Larry L. Langley, 64, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Moline, Moline, IL.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3205 60th Street, Moline. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, December 22, 2013, followed by a Remembrance Service at 4 p.m. at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline, IL. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Memorials may be made to the family.
Larry was born on August 2, 1949, in Moline, IL, the son of Floyd and Gwen (Broquist) Langley. He received his BA from Augustana College and his MBA from University of Iowa. Larry married Sheryll T. Gusse on August 22, 1970, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline.
Larry retired in 1995 as an accountant for Iowa Illinois Gas & Electric after 21 years of dedicated service. He was an entrepreneur and a pioneering spirit who became self-employed as a yoga/life teacher, website designer, and computer consultant. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and a former member of CFM. He was very health conscious and enjoyed yoga, running, and fitness. Larry ran in more than 30 marathons, was a former president of the Cornbelt Running Club, and was the original director of several local running events including QC Race for the Cure, Fargo Fest, and Fit Fest. More than anything, Larry lived in the moment and loved helping and taking care of his family.
