Laura "Laurie" J. Sloan

Laura “Laurie” J. Sloan, 66, of Moline, IL, passed away on Monday, June 8, 2026, at UnityPoint Health Trinity Rock Island.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at IBEW Local 145 (1700 52nd Ave. Moline, IL). Cremation rites will be accorded. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Moline are assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or ForTheLoveofMentalHealth ComeYOUnity Center, Davenport.

Laurie was born on April 28, 1960, in Moline, the daughter of Robert and Joyce (Miner) Samuelson. She worked as a job coach for Goodwill of the Heartland for 15 years, and she was very passionate about helping her clients. Laurie loved reading and especially spending time with her family and grandkids. She was a God-fearing and caring woman.

Survivors include her mother, Joyce; daughters, Lindsey (Ricki) Stambaugh, Danielle Townsend, and Teresa Stockwell; step-daughter, Ashley Hatfield; siblings, Kim (Charlie) von Motz, Larry Samuelson, Kenny Samuelson, and Kathy (Jesse) Campos; grandchildren, Lexus Stambaugh, Orion (Lillian) Stambaugh, Anna Stockwell, Zoey Johnson, Charles Johnson, and Asia Johnson; great-grandson, James Stambaugh.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert.
