Laura Jean Linson, 80, of Moline, IL, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014, at UnityPoint Health - Trinity Rock Island, Rock Island, IL.
As per Laura's request, her body will be cremated and there will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the charity of ones' choice. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Laura was born on April 26, 1933, in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of John and Eleanora Corcoran. The former Laura Corcoran was married to Harold Uriah Linson on August 11, 1956, in St. Louis, MO, and he preceded her in death in 1995.
Among Laura's favorite things in life were family, friends, gardening and playing bridge.
Survivors include her daughter, Heather (John, deceased) Linson, Hoboken, NJ; two granddaughters, Erin (Dave) Linson, Bettendorf, IA, and Ashley (Shirah) Linson, Ossining, NY; great granddaughter, Hannah Howlett; sister, Genevieve (Martin) Beirne, Madina, OH; brother-in-law, John (Sandy) Linson, Kansas City, KS; and three sisters-in-law, Dottie (Kelly, deceased) Corcoran, Mt. Olive, IL, Alice (Jim, deceased) Corcoran, St. Louis, MO, and Bobbie (Don, deceased) Corcoran, Cleveland, TX.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harold U. Linson; son, Harold U. Linson, Jr.; five brothers, Jack, Denny, Jim, Kelly, and Don Corcoran; three sisters, Eleanor Vahey, Virginia Hughes and Carol "Susie" Thornburg; two sisters-in-law, Mary Corcoran Thomann and Gerry Corcoran.
Laura was "mother" to so many, and a friend to all who met her. She will be greatly missed.
