LaVernon P. Wright, Sr., 77, of Rock Island, died Monday, February 28, 2011 at University of Iowa Hospitals, Iowa City.
Private family services will be held. Burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family.

LaVernon was born October 30, 1933 in Winterset, Iowa, the son of Jesse and Velma Lorraine Terry Wright He married Katherine Emma Moritz in 1952. She preceded him in death on January 14, 1970.
LaVernon was an assembler for John Deere. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a member of the Rock Island Moose and the V.F.W. 1303, Rock Island.
