Lawrence "Larry" L Pollard Jr.

Lawrence “Larry” L. Pollard, Jr. 84, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2021, at the funeral home.  Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church 1501 6th Ave, East Moline, IL 61244.

Lawrence was born on March 12, 1937, in Moline, the son of Lawrence LeRoy Pollard, Sr. and Naomi Adams.  He married Annette Leavy in 1955 and later divorced in 1984.  Larry previously worked as Director of Mental Health Board for Rock Island County and Director of Adult Education at Black Hawk College, where he had the title staff emeritus.  Larry was the former Program Director with Project Now, and a member of the Bi-State Literacy Council.  He was a lifetime member of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, East Moline.  Larry enjoyed spending time with his family as well as golfing.

Survivors include his daughters, Devra Pollard, and Michele (Edward Nunn) Pollard; grandchildren, Nathan (Dorothy Scheeline) Pollard, Gabriel Pollard, Cadence, Mattie, Bennett, and Wisdom Nunn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and sons, Duane and Michael.
