Lee Madison Farrar, 91, of Geneseo, passed away peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on December 26, 2025. As he desired, cremation rites were accorded. Private graveside services and burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal, at a later date.
Lee was born on December 2, 1934, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the only son of Madison and Mary Lillian (Starnes) Farrar. He graduated from Delavan High School in 1952, and Wisconsin State University, Whitewater in 1957, with degrees in Business Administration and Physics. After graduation, Lee served for three years with the US Army at Fort Bliss, Texas.
During his 40 years of professional employment, Lee was employed by Motorola in Phoenix, Arizona and Bendix, Eagle Signal, Control Process, Uticor Technology, Automation Systems, and Mehta Tech, all of the Quad Cities. While with Motorola, he was awarded a patent for a unique semiconductor product design.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Rock Island where he was a member of the Sanctuary Choir for over thirty-seven years and served as its president for thirty-six years. He was also a member of the local Popular Astronomy Club of Rock Island, serving on its Board of Directors for many years.
In 1995, he married Jean Lemaster of Moline. She preceded him in death in 2003. He was also preceded in death by his parents and 2 daughters, Audrey Mae Farrar Johnson and Valerie Sue Farrar.
Survivors include his daughter, Carolee E. (Andrew) Munoz, Geneseo; grandchildren, Ricky M. Davis, Rock Island, Erin E. Johnson, Minneapolis, MN, Keri M. Johnson, Bettendorf, IA, Madison E. (Alex) Fosket, Belgrade, MT, Logan A. Munoz and Reece B. Munoz, Geneseo and one great granddaughter, Ellie Davis, Bettendorf, IA.
