Lena Marie Hollingshead, 67, of Silvis, formerly of East Moline, IL, died Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Aspen Rehab & Health Care, Silvis, IL.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., 6601 38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, May 27, 2016, at the funeral home. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Burial of cremains will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to the family.
Lena was born on April 6, 1949, in Toledo, OH, the daughter of John and Lucy S. Urbina Kyser. She married Billie Hollingshead on April 11, 1967, in Texas.
Lena was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed reading and dancing. She especially loved being a military wife.
Survivors include her mother, Lucy Casper; children, Mitsi Jo (Mike) Tuttle, Charles Anthony Hollingshead, Thomas (Maria) Leon Hollingshead, and Susette Marie (Peter Allen) Hirschoff; grandchildren, Christina, Kyra, Julia, Tristen, Gregory, Victoria, Thomas Jr., Jarad, Elena, Hazel, and Seleste; great grandchildren, Kylie and Grayson; siblings, Emmy (Missy) Kyser, Lucia (Joe) Davis, and Bob Kyser; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, John; son, William; daughter, Susette; brothers, Dennis and Joseph; step father, Bob Casper
