Lena Marie Reeder, 94, of Davenport, IA, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Good Samaritan Society Davenport, Davenport, IA.
Services will be held for our loving Mother and Father, Lena and Chester, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2012, at the Sciota Christian Church, 107 East Seymour Street, Sciota, IL. There will be a one hour visitation prior to the service. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Good Samaritan Alzheimer's Unit. Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. is assisting the family with arrangements.
Lena was born on January 13, 1918 in Huntsville, IL, the daughter of Lewis V. and Cora B. (Allen) Hindbaugh. She married Chester C. Reeder on August 6, 1936 in Mt. Sterling, IL. He preceded her in death on January 17, 2012. Lena worked as an Avon Sales Representative for 50 years. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. Lena was known as an excellent cook. She and Chester celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary in August of 2011.
