Leonard E Bishop

Leonard E. Bishop, 92, of Sun City West, AZ, formerly of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, January 9, 2018, at home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, February 23, 2018, with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the service at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3209 60th St, Moline, IL.  Cremation rites will follow services.  Inurnment will be at the National Cemetery at the Rock Island Arsenal, where military honors will be conducted by the Moline American Legion Post 246.  Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Leonard was born on June 23, 1925, in Garfield Heights/Cuyahoga, OH, the son of Peter and Caroline Klyz Bishop.  He married Mary Dudzik on May 8, 1948 at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Moline.  She preceded him in death in 2006.  Leonard worked for the government as an air traffic controller.

Leonard was a veteran, having proudly served in the United States Marine Corp as a Technical Sergeant during WWII.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary, his mother, his father and sisters Tony, Sue, Helen and Jan.
