Leslie Docherty, 78 of East Moline, died on February 15, 2014 at his residence.
A memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601 38 Avenue, Moline. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 on Wednesday. Per his wishes cremation rites have been accorded and private inurment will be at a later time. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association or to the Genesis Hospice of the Quad Cities.
Leslie was born on July 27, 1935 in Boden, Illinois, the son of Leslie and Doris Peterson Docherty. He married Cleo Taylor in 1954 and later married Arla Hedrick in Gatlinburg, Tennessee in 1987.
Leslie was employed with the Iowa Illinois Power Company as a lineman for 26 years retiring in 1995. He enjoyed coon hunting, traveling, car racing and going to the dog races. He was also a huge Chicago Cubs and Bears Fan. Leslie also enjoyed collecting handmade brooms and outhouses.
