Lewis Wesley Palmer, age 88, formerly of Moline, died Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Transitions Nursing Home, Rock Falls, IL.
Funeral service will be 1:30 p.m.Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd. 6601-38th Avenue, Moline. Visitation is from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial is in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline with military honors conducted by East Moline American Legion Post #227. Memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established.
Lewis was born August 12, 1920 in Moline, the son of Perry and Jennie (Seeman) Palmer. He married Dorothy Ellen Kling on June 15, 1946 in Moline.
Lewis was employed at Ametek in the mid 1960's, and later at Blackhawk College. He was a World War II Navy veteran. Lewis was a member of the East Moline American Legion Post #227, and the East Moline VFW Post #8890. He was an avid fisherman, sportsman, and was a huge Cardinals and Bears fan. Lewis was always there for anyone in need.
