Lois Catherine (Erb) Creger, 88, formerly of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 5, 2014 in Cincinnati, OH. Visitation will be held from 9 am - 10:30 am on April 11, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church 1330 - Thirteenth Avenue Moline, IL followed by the funeral service at 10:30 am at the same location.
Lois, one of eight children, was born September 3, 1925 in Rock Island, IL to Fred Erb (born in Hellert, France) and Emma Erb (born in Switzerland), who met & married in Switzerland and came to the United States in 1912.
Lois graduated from Rock Island High School in 1943. She later met Francis O. (Hank) Creger in Rock Island and married him at Chicago Temple First United Methodist Church in Chicago IL on November 15, 1947. They were married nearly 59 years. Both were active members of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline IL; she for 39 years.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Hank Creger; five sisters: Marie Hixson, Emma Hall, Margaret Ryerson, Cecilia Foley, Martha Erb; and one brother, Fredolin Erb. Lois is survived by her sister, Josephine Anne (Joanne) (Lou) Zimmer, Edmond, OK; daughter Cathy Rosenbaum, Loveland, OH; son, Todd Creger (Lisa), Geneva, IL; five grandsons: Chris (Meg) Rosenbaum, Needham, MA, Ben (Cassie) Rosenbaum, Cleveland, OH, Scott Creger, David Creger, Stephen Creger (Geneva, IL); and three great grand daughters: Ella Rosenbaum, Anna Rosenbaum, and Grace Rosenbaum (Needham, MA).
The family extends its heartfelt thanks to the angelic caregivers from the Alois Center in Cincinnati, Hospice of Cincinnati, to friends at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline, and to her many long time Quad Cities friends and family who supported and loved her across the miles.
