Lois Cunningham

Velma “Lois” Cunningham, 95, of East Moline IL, passed away on Sunday, July 16, 2023, at her residence.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday July 21, 2023, Rose Lawn Cemetery, Moline.  Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Ltd., Moline is assisting the family.

Lois was born on August 31, 1927, in Ava, Missouri, the daughter of Harve and Edith (Potter) Heatherly. She married Duane H. Cunningham on August 8, 1945, in Arkansas and he preceded her in death on August 12, 2019. Lois was a member of First Southern Baptist Church, Colona, and was active in numerous church functions and services. Lois was a woman of strong faith in God.  She enjoyed fellowship with her church family and friends, gardening, painting, and was an avid mushroom hunter. In later years when she was housebound, Lois loved contact with her friends and family.

Lois is survived by her daughters; Evelyn Barry and Karen Cunningham; sisters, Norma Cook and Velta Bellinger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Duane; daughter, Donna Cunningham; parents, Harve and Edith; brothers, Harve Jr., Otho, Harold and Gerald Heatherly; sister, Ruby Allen.
